Myriam & Vender's Wedding

We've been waiting for this for so long. After five years between Brooklyn and Port-au-Prince, between the flights, the 3 AM video calls, and the promises kept, Vender finally asked for my hand in front of our families. On August 15th, si Dye vle, we say yes in front of everyone we love.

We wanted to keep the soul of both sides: a traditional Haitian ceremony in Pétion-Ville with kompa, gospel, and the families dressed in white — then the celebration in Brooklyn with cousins from Miami, Boston, Montréal and everywhere the diaspora calls home. Diri kole, griot, soup joumou, and a kè kontan that won't end until sunrise.
